Sukah 36

SUKA 36-56 (End of Maseches) have been dedicated by the wife and daughters of the late Dr. Simcha Bekelnitzky (Simcha Gedalya ben Shraga Feibush) of Queens N.Y. Well known in the community for his Chesed and Tzedakah, he will long be remembered.

1) [line 2] NEKEV MEFULASH - (a) a hole that extends from one side of the Esrog to the other (RASHI, BEHAG, RIF, RA'AVAD); (b) a hole that pierces the peel of the Esrog and reaches the seed chambers (YERUSHALMI cited by the ROSH, RI, RAN)

2) [line 3] BEK'ISAR - the area of an Isar, a Roman coin which is the equivalent of 1/24 of a Dinar. Its area was approximately 4.1 sq. cm or 0.64 sq. in.
